Williams-Sonoma + Magazine Giveaways!

Guys, this is probably my most favorite giveaway of the whole year. I love giveaways, but this one makes me teary-eyed.

I don’t usually cry while reading food magazines. I may have had a few close calls at Williams-Sonoma, though.

Joking.

Sort of.

In order to enter, you must (yes, must!) tell me something you’re grateful for.

When I read about all of the things you’re grateful for, and maybe some of the rough patches you share with me, it makes me want to cry. And reach into my monitor and squeeze all of you. It also reminds me about how richly blessed we all are.

I’m so grateful for you all. For your comments, emails, tweets, messages. For your encouragement. For sharing your success stories with me throughout the year. I seriously love it.

This year FIVE of you will have your choice of Bon Appetit or Food Network Magazine for a whole year!

Already subscribe to those? Send your winnings to someone else!

AND…

Another winner will get a $100 gift card to Williams-Sonoma!

To Enter:

Just leave a comment and answer this question for me:

What are you grateful for?

A few little details…

1. Comments will close on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 8PM PST. I’ll use a random number generator to choose SIX winners that I will contact and announce here shortly after. If I don’t get a response from the winners after three days I’ll pick new ones.

2. One entry per person. As much as I love having new Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest pals, I want you to follow me because you genuinely like my blog. Not for extra entries in a contest.

3. Contest open to US and Canadian residents only.

4. Leave a valid email address for me to contact you.

I am grateful for a husband who goes out of his way to help me and make my life easier. It’s not a once in a while thing, either. It’s how he lives every day.

I could list other things, but that’s the first thing I thought of today.

    Dorothy — November 5, 2012 @ 4:52 am

I have so much to be thankful for right now. It’s hard to narrow it down, so I’ll give three. First, though I’m far from home, I’m thankful for the mamas and sisters who have entered my life in the last three months. Second, I’m thankful for the extra pounds that I’ve gained, because it reminds me of how much people have loved us and how blessed we are. Third, I am thankful for all of the babies in our life as it is a reminder of God’s faithfulness in the lives of so many others, even as we desire to see that gift in our own lives. We have so many good gifts in our lives!

I wasn’t supposed to be able to get pregnant, and I did. Twice. Baby and I weren’t supposed to make it through this last one, and we did. I wasn’t supposed to be able to “just” walk away from situations and relationships that caused me to question myself, and I did. I wasn’t supposed to be the quiet, staid one, and I am. I wasn’t supposed to say all those no’s, and I did, which has led to a lifetime of OH YESSES. I am grateful for every one.

Great giveaway, Natalie! Thanks for the chance to win.

As I started typing my comment, I realized just how blessed I am. I’m incredibly grateful for my job; as soon as I finished my graduate classes, I got the position I wanted at the company I wanted in the city I wanted to live in. (I’m also grateful for my best friend’s family, who let me stay at their house in the suburbs for six weeks before my lease began.)

At times I’ve felt a little lonely, moving far, far away from close friends, but I have found an awesome church and started to get plugged into a small group. I’m extra-grateful for that! :)

My heart is so full with gratitude. My husband is now cancer free! He is (somewhat begrudgingly :D) joining me in a healthier lifestyle. We are learning to appreciate things we have always taken for granted; date night, the whole family snuggling on the couch for a movie, snuggling with my son with a book and sitting around the table to a home cooked meal because restaurants don’t cook it with love (my secret ingredient). Millions of simple things that are an honor to have and can’t be bought. Oh yeah – and Williams and Sonoma ;).

I am greatful for my wonderful, sweet husband in a year where feeling greatful has been tough. I have had several failed cycles of fertility treatment over the past year and am really struggling – it has been a rough road full of financial stress, relationship strain, anger, sadness, and guilt. My husband has been my rock as we are going through this process – he is the shoulder I cry on, the one to make jokes to lighten an otherwise miserable situation, and constantly reminds me he isn’t going anywhere – no matter what. Gah, now I’m crying. Anyway, I’m greatful to be so lucky – even though it doesn’t always feel like it.

I am gonna go for an uncommon thing that I am grateful for (of course family, friends, a home, the gospel….those are kind of duh, no brainers). I am grateful for forgiveness. Not only being forgiven for the wrong I have done, but also the power to forgive others when they have wronged me or done something that truly hurts me. I have come to learn a lot about this over the past year, and I am so grateful for the peace that comes through forgiveness.

I am thankful that we can afford the car repair that’s needed to keep me on the road this week! While it wasn’t money we had set aside for car repair, we have it. And, just as important, it won’t cause us to not be able to eat or buy Christmas gifts or anything like that. Having a car with high miles is sometimes stressful, but a second car payment would be as well. I’m grateful that my car has made it through another year and hopefully it’ll get a little closer to 200,000 before we have to trade it!
