Malted Chocolate Chunk Cookies
This has replaced my go-to Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. After two teenage boys told me that these cookies are what the fruit probably tastes like on the Tree of Life, I knew I had found something good.

Malted Chocolate Chunk Cookies
Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup malted milk powder
2 Tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups chocolate chunks + 1 cup dark chocolate chipsDirections:
Combine butter, brown sugar, malt, syrup and vanilla. Beat 2 min. Add egg. Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Stir in chunks and chips. Drop by tablespoons on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 11-13 min.
Nat's Notes:
1. I've had a hard time finding malt powder lately, and one grocery store I went to wasn't sure if they'd continue to carry it. They did, however, have chocolate malt powder. The last time I made them, I used that instead of regular malt and omitted the chocolate syrup. I didn't notice a change.
2. The original recipe called for 1 cup of shortening, but because I quit using shortening, I use a smaller amount of butter instead.adapted from Taste of Home
