A Cheesecake + Some News that Made Me Blush!

Every year around Valentine’s Day we have our yearly cheesecake fix. This time I made a combination of Steve’s favorite Brownie-Bottom Cheesecake and the Mexican Chocolate Ice Cream Cake I made for our birthdays last summer. The result? Mexican Brownie-Bottom Cheesecake. A cinnamon-spiced cheesecake atop a cinnamon-cayenne brownie crust with a sprinkle of cayenne on top.

The recipe? You can find it over at my guest post on Buns In My Oven. Karly is in the Bahamas so I was happy to contribute to her blog while she was gone. I’m only a teensy bit jealous. OK, a lot jealous. Karly is a wonderful blogger and her posts always make me smile and giggle. Her recipes are great, too, so go on over and browse through her mouth-watering collection of baked goodies!

Next up is some pretty exciting news! Perrys’ Plate made Babble.com’s Top 100 Food Mom Blogs for 2011! Thank you Babble and a big congrats to those who made the list!

That's pretty awesome, Natalie! It's funny to me every time I go to a friend or acquaintance's blog and they have your cooking blog linked! It's pretty cool, actually. I almost feel like a friend to a celebrity.

Thanks for all of your sweet comments and congrats!

Brittany – The bread's coming! (probably next week sometime) I need to get more photos of the process because it's a lot different from regular bread baking. So easy, though!

ACK. I never noticed the apostrophe and am pretty sure I've been doing it wrong.

Do you have a good wheat bread recipe? Because if not, I have a SUPER simple and fast one that my aunt gave me.

    It's so so so good.

Congratulations, what an honor to be featured among such great bloggers! And that cheesecake – if that doesn't sound fantastic, I don't know what would.
